On August 22, 2015, I went out to dinner with my family and one of my close friends. While we were at dinner, my friend kept telling me over and over again, "Everyone is starting to get asked to Homecoming." UGH already? I felt like it was too early. So I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "I really don't have any close guy friends who would ask me?" I told myself that I probably wasn't going to get asked. And I was fine with that. I had gone to other dances my High School experience and since I wasn't close to anyone, I was fine not going at all.
While we were sitting at dinner my friend mentioned that she knew someone who wanted to ask me. She made me try and guess and I never did because I seriously couldn't think of anyone!
When I went home that night and found this poster on my doorstep, I got SUPER excited!!
"You've caught my attention, lets have a ball at Homecoming?!?"
And on that ball in that cute pink mitt was Nate Schwemmers name!!
Okay here's the story about Nate. He moved here during 8th grade and he sat a couple seats away from me when we had English class together. Everyone was talking about that one cute new kid. Who is he? Where was he from?? Junior High girls wanted to know every single detail. And right when I saw this cute tall boy in my English class, I couldn't stop staring at him. Haha I instantly started crushing on him.
I told one of my really close friends (Maggie)
"There's this new kid in my English class. You HAVE to see him. He is so cute."
I never actually spoke any words to him but I definitely knew who he was. I had always wanted to talk to him in English class but I wasn't ever good at talking to boys when I was in Junior High.
So you could say that when he asked me to Homecoming, I was FREAKING OUT! My 8th grade crush that I had never even talked to asked me to our senior homecoming?? I had a million of things running through my head.
We've never talked..
I've had a crush on this kid.
He knows me? Haha
Why did he ask me??
Holy crap, I didn't even care, I was so excited!! It didn't feel real.
The Day Activity was awesome! We went up to a condo in park city and played volleyball and then went swimming/hot tubbing. Everyone in the group was so easy to get a long with. And still to this day, I am so happy because some of my closet friends now were some of the people in that group.
